Fear and Longing by Ren Nolastname

I stare up at my goal,

clinging to the edge

When all I want is answers

Doubt fills my heart instead

I want to be intelligent,

And admire others’ minds

But, the more I think,

the more I learn

The more questions I find

I play the part of the fool,

a part I know full well

Because the more I ask

The more I long to retreat

to the safety of my shell
